Description
Scot Harvath does not disappoint in this latest book. Sometimes in a continuation series, the action just fizzles.. And, the reader is left wondering what has happened to the series. This one will not disappoint the reader for one second although the author affords the readers opportunities to catch their breaths several times.A short video is sent to DC and Scot is sent on a mission. To me, it was fascinating that his teammates for the first portion were indeed different than the usual ones. And, this mission is fast paced with suspense and also action filled. There is chaos at nearly every turn of the page and it rules throughout.A grisly scene occurs in a brothel, a burn-pit is observed close range, a discussion of bureaucrats is an attention getter, a perfect Petri dish is found and the reader is left gasping at more than one evil person. I like the fact that the reader is led into Scot’s mindset concerning his choice of occupation and his life in general. This book covers a lot of territory and involves DC as well as enemies and allies of the US. The UN is also included for some added action in some strange locations. All in all, the reader is taken along on a ride with Scot like none before. The author shows his intricate knowledge of tactics, weapons and pure survival throughout this book. The plot is woven intricately, outstanding mix of characters and the scene in the Bahamas near the end is perfect. One of the best in this series, for sure.
